KANSAS CITY, MO (Hallmark Headquarters) — Hallmark, in collaboration with the LGBTQ Institute, National LGBT Health Education Center and LGBT National Health Center debuted Trans-Mother’s Day cards today. “Trans-Mother” is defined as “denoting or relating to a person whose sense of personal identity and parenthood does not correspond with their having children.”
Despite the economic devastation caused by the COVID-shutdown, Hallmark executives anticipate up to a 50% increase in 3rd quarter profits. “This really opens up the market,” said Rich Feller, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “We’re thrilled to tap into this all-inclusive demographic.”
LGBTQ leaders are also touting this success. “Trans-mothers aren’t limited by the gender-spectrum or having children,” said Carrie Dababi, author of A Night of a Thousand Genders. “This goes a long way towards ending arbitrary and discriminatory limitations against the LGBTQ community.”
