During COVID-19, Liberals Keep in Shape with Mental Gymnastics

WASHINGTON, D.C. — With gyms around the country closed and the local Starbucks off limits in many states, liberals around the country are finding a new way to stay in shape: mental gymnastics.
What is “mental gymnastics,” you ask? Well, it’s simple. It’s staking out a mental position, in most cases a political one, and then bending over backwards in your mind to “dip, dive, and dodge” yourself out of the way of any contradictory evidence. We asked leading liberal Nancy Pelosi to explain.
“For example, do you remember when we all tweeted “#BelieveAllWomen” in the Kavanaugh case, and literally screamed about President Trump’s misogyny,” Pelosi explained, as if we could ever forget it, “but then give people like Bill Clinton and Joe Biden a free pass? Well, that’s the kind of mental gymnastics we’re looking for.”
Other examples of liberal mental gymnastics include climate change, “Hands Up, Don’t Shoot,” and racial hatred directed against whites. “It’s all good,” Pelosi added, “Any kind of mental gymnastics is good, and justified, as long as you keep supporting the Democratic Party.”
