Kate Graham, Kamala Harris’ speechwriter is the eighth high-ranking member of the VP’s staff to depart since last summer. Graham is credited with penning Harris’ January 13th speech which became a defining moment of the COVID pandemic and one of the most iconic speeches in American history:
“It is time for us to do what we have been doing. And that time is every day. Every day it is time for us to agree that there are things and tools that are available to us to slow this thing down.”
With a 28 percent approval rating, Harris speculates that perhaps more than two-thirds of Americans are racist, insisting this isn’t an overstatement. “I’m a career prosecutor,” Harris told Article 107 News, “I have been trained, and my experience over decades, is to make decisions after a review of the evidence and the facts. And not to jump up with grand gestures before I’ve done that. Some might interpret that as being cautious. I would tell you that’s just responsible.”
With an ever-shrinking pool of non-racists to choose from, the hunt for a new speechwriter may take some time.
